A few years ago, I read an article about people ingesting metal grill brush bristles that has stayed with me in the way that certain scenes from all those Stephen King novels I read in my youth have, i.e. in the way that makes me bolt upright in terror in the middle of the night. (Damn you, Langoliers!)
